New distribution of Castanopsis fissa (Fagaceae) in Chongqing

During a biodiversity survey in Beibei District, Chongqing, a newly recorded species of Fagaceae was discovered. Based on literature review and specimen examination, it was identified as Castanopsis fissa (Champ. ex Benth.) Rehder & E. H. Wilson, a newly recorded species in Chongqing. The discovery of this species enriches the flora of Chongqing and provides new data for the compilation of local flora. The voucher specimens are deposited in the Herbarium of Southwest University (HWA), laying a foundation for further academic research.
